About the therapist

Welcome to Three Oaks Therapy! I’m glad you’re here!

My path to becoming a therapist has been shaped by both personal and professional experiences across very different chapters of life. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over two decades as a professional modern and classical Indian dancer, teacher, and arts administrator. Having navigated high-pressure creative and institutional environments, I understand the unique burdens of perfectionism, performance anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, and the pressure to always keep going. I also understand how difficult it can be when our identity becomes closely tied to what we do—and how overwhelming life can feel when circumstances force us to redefine ourselves.

More recently, my work as a medical social worker deepened my understanding of the emotional impact of illness, caregiving, motherhood, loss, and major life transitions. I have supported individuals and families navigating cancer and other serious medical conditions, as well as new mothers adjusting to the profound physical, emotional, and identity changes that can come with pregnancy and parenthood. Through this work, I have witnessed how quickly life can change and how medical challenges can affect not only the body, but also relationships, identity, independence, and one's sense of the future.

These experiences have shaped the way I approach therapy. I understand that healing is not always about simply "getting back to who you were." Sometimes, healing involves grieving what has changed, making sense of difficult experiences, and discovering who you are becoming.

In my practice, I blend an appreciation for the mind-body connection with evidence-based therapeutic approaches. I strive to create a space that is both warm and compassionate while also providing the structure and honesty needed for meaningful growth. I honor your unique pace and believe that therapy is a collaborative process.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, cancer, motherhood, burnout, life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, you do not have to navigate it alone. Together, we can work to unlearn harsh self-criticism, process difficult experiences, and build a life that feels more authentic, meaningful, and aligned with who you are.
